Samsung Exec Bail in Industrial Espionage Case

A South Korean court has conceded bail to a previous chief of Samsung blamed for taking delicate data created by the technology giant, court records displayed on Tuesday.

For a situation that highlights the country’s endeavors to take action against industrial espionage, examiners have claimed that the previous chief Choi Jinseog, a South Korean chip master, took data figured out by the world’s top memory chipmaker to assist his client with setting up a chip processing plant in China.

Choi has denied the charges.

The district court in Suwon, south of Seoul, acknowledged a bail demand for Choi on November 10, court records showed, without giving further details.

Legal counselors for Choi were not quickly accessible for input, but rather a source near Choi affirmed he had been delivered on bail.

Samsung Electronics didn’t quickly give a remark.

The high-profile criminal body of evidence against Choi, an honor winning designer once seen as a star in South Korea’s chip industry, features a drive by Seoul to obstruct modern surveillance and slow China’s advancement in chip production.
